Southern Star “Half Nelson”

Next in line from Dan’s Pizza is a new Southern Star Brew! Just released January 2017. This one is from their art can line. They do something pretty cool where the cans feature artwork from a local artist. This artist also happens to be a Southern Star employee! I got the picture from Southern Star’s website. We enjoyed this one draught so didn’t get to see the can.
I poured a clean golden color, rx with good head. Southern star boasts this one to have two different types of hops – hence the name.
It was very hoppy and bitter, hospital but also very crisp and smooth! Went great with the pizza! I would say mid-level carbonation and medium-bodied. It wasn’t light, but wasn’t too filling. It was almost creamy up front, but very dry at the end. It left you with a dry palate.
All in all another good job from Southern Star.
